Office 2013 will not activate "Sorry, we are having some temporary server issues."

Despite the message, there is no problem at Microsoft. This condition can occur when you have just installed Office 2013 especially if your browser has not yet been used. I ran into this issue during a new build process.

The solution is to 'reset' Internet Explorer.

  • Start Internet Explorer
  • On the TOOLS menu, select INTERNET OPTIONS
  • Click the ADVANCED tab
  • At the bottom of the page select RESET
  • Select DELETE PERSONAL SETTINGS

Reboot
