Using the snipping tool to capture drop-down menus and other transient windows

Nice easy one for the new year. If you need to use the snipping tool to capture drop-down menus or other items that vanish when you click off them, follow these steps:

1. Start the snipping tool
2. Hit ESC to get out of the capture mode, but leave the snipping tool control window open.
3. Do what you need to do, to get the transient window to appear.
4. Press CTRL and PRINT SCREEN.
5. Your transient window will stay there and you will be able to use the mouse to outline your capture.
